Back to nature with Botanical Effect form Mary Kay. Review

In the last 2 years I haven't actually bought any Mary Kay products and I'm not sure why, it's probably because I'm always trying to find options  with more natural and organic products and I had no clue they had such a line Not long ago I was blessed with the opportunity to review the Mary Kay  Botanical Effects for dry and sensitive skin. I was pleasantly surprised with these products. My skin is dry and sensitive but prone to acne and most products  cause me contact dermatitis, so I'm always careful with anything that will go on to my face.

Pretty Mommies: Hormones, skin care, and pregnancy. Review

Everyone usually talks about the pregnancy glow, the beautiful skin and hair, how the increased amount of hormones and blood in your body while pregnant seems to keep you skin and hair gorgeous and add a healthy glow proper of this wonderful new phase in your life. Sadly this is not true a 90%  not even 80% of the pregnant women, while some are lucky enough to be granted the best features of pregnancy and the good side of the hormonal change, others (like me) have to settle for newly developed cystic acne, oily skin and everything swollen.

Face Cleaning Routine for Bedtime

Have any of you girls ever had the feeling that you can be doing more for your face in terms of keeping the skin fresh, clean and hydrated? Well, there are lot of beauty treatments out there, and a lot of them have at least some shred of empirical evidence to support their effectiveness. A person cannot expect to a miracle crème or a wonder drug – things like that don't exist outside corporate infomercial and ad campaigns. In the real world; a person have to do a NUMBER of different cosmetic procedures, scientifically prove procedures that have been tested and re-tested time and time and again. I personally have tried all steps mentioned in this article, and I am more than pleased with the results. Here is what I do:

Clean the Skin

The first thing that should be on everyone's mind is how can we get more cleaning action out of our cleaning agents. I personally like using non-oil, commercial brand make-up removers, but for the sake of this article we are going to look at some all-natural remedies,l and hope that they do just as good. These are some of the essentials:

• Coconut oil – Not only is coconut oil great for cooking, but it is also a fairly powerful moisturiser. This substance will successfully remove dirt, make-up and dead skin (cells) off your face. Coconut oil is also regarded by some specialists as being a natural antiseptic and the best part it – it is completely non-toxic! So much so you, you can use it as an eye make-up remover and it won't even sting your eyes. And the smell...need I say more?

• Castor oil – If you are looking for a sure way to get rid of those unpleasant bags under your eyes, then this is what you are looking for. Castor oil is think, very think moisturiser that works great on wrinkles and puffy, dark eyes.

• Any garden variety exfoliating agent – I cannot help you with this one; you have to make the purchase for yourself. But regardless of what brand you use, be sure to limit your exfoliating sessions to no more than 1-2 per week. Too much of this stuff and you will lose most of your natural face oils (which we need to keep healthy).

• Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) – Are you familiar with the term astringent? Until recently I had no idea as well. As it turn out, stringent is a substance which shrinks or constricts body tissues. We can say that this is Nature's very own secret toner (not so secret now apparently). It works wonders in keeping the skin from getting too loose and wrinkled.

I use hot water as a precursor to all my procedures. Hot water opens up the pores – making them that much easier to clean. I do one facial with coconut oil, wash it and repeat – 2 more times. Castor oil goes under the eyes and the witch hazel I leave for last. The exfoliating agent should be applied last and for at least 5-6 hours. It is best to put it on right before going to bed, and remove it once you get up. Read the labels very carefully and always consider your TYPE of skin before treating your face with anything!

l'uvalla Balancing System review

l'uvalla Balancing System review

I received the following product in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own and not influenced by others.

I have combination skin like many others out there and have tried many products to help with the issues I have faced. Usually I ended up with dry patches because what was already non oily was becoming drier and flakier in response to the products. Well let me tell you about l'uvalla, I don't have those crazy dry patches and most of my face is clear ( all except along my chin line its stubborn.) I also don't have problems with my face becoming overly oily in places as it has in the past, which left me wanting to scrub my face midway through the work day.

Merlot Skin Care: Moonlight Radiance Night Cream & Grape Seed Moisturizer

Merlot Skin Care: Moonlight Radiance Night Cream & Grape Seed Moisturizer

As I get closer to 25 I have started to worry about my skin. I have caught myself looking at older people in public and thinking "what can I do to prevent that." So I have finally taken to heart what my friend Connie says "Better to start before the problem (prevention) then to try to undo the problem (repair)." As prevention is easier and more effective then trying to repair after the damage has occurred. I went into using these afraid that they may cause me to break out more then I already do (like the Burt's bee's night cream I tried a few months ago.) but I didn't have any issues with a major break out. There was also no burning or heavy feeling when I used this product. I really like that its made from Grapes (I adore them I really do.)
