If you are just looking for standard white chalk markers then this is the pack for you. While I love the 10 pack with all the colors the white comes in hand for a lot of projects. This could change the way teachers write on chalk boards (or those that still have them that is) or even dry erase boards. They are great for crafts like using the CHALKBOARD LABELS from CraftyCrock. They can be used to label presents during birthdays and Holidays.

TUTUorial - How to make a TuTu

TUTUorial - How to make a TuTu

I have been wanting a TuTu for some time each time I saw them on Cut it out and keep it it pulled at my heart strings. So while out shopping the other day I realized I had everything but the main color tulle so I decided to pick some up and get to work as Halloween is getting ever closer. At first I picked up some lovely purple and then after standing in the line for cutting I look over and see this really pretty blue so I decided to go with that. So I took my tulle with me that night and began to craft my project.

Family Fun and Easter Eggs crafting! (Tutorial)

Easter is one of those Holiday that seems to bring mixed emotions if you are Christian you will feel sadness and joy for the Resurrection,  now if you are pagan (new age) and you celebrate Eostre, it's a merry time to celebrate Eastre and welcome Spring, yet MOST religions allow their kids to enjoy some harmless egg crafting and hunt. When my children were little Easter was a BIG thing, we would spent a week crafting and painting eggs, cooking, baking  and getting ready for the different "Pascua" stages. I should mention that my country is Catholic in their majority so the celebrations are quite different, but the egg craft and hunting  are alike and  so is the big marketing behind chocolate bunnies and eggs from huge companies like, M&M, Hershey's, Resse's, Cadbury, Lindtz and even Peeps are  known worldwide, even in small third world countries like mine. Lets just try to keep some traditions alive.

Crafting tutorial: Ceramic Soap Pump.

So I saw this pin on pinterest that inspired me. The pin? Well the pins lead to 2 different places and that would be here and here. The idea is to take a coffee mug and write something in permanent marker and bake it on. Well I decided to take this a step further when I was out shopping for supplies and an which of the many idea's I had floating around my head to make.

So I was about to pick up a mug when my Dollar Tree wandering lead me to a ceramic hand soap container.  As you might have been able to tell (If you have checked out my other crafts) I LOVE Nightmare before Christmas just as Jessica does. So I decided on a NBC themed craft for this soap container.

For along time I was only crocheting but I'm getting back into other things again. I am currently looking at getting back into metal working for jewelry. Stick around you never know what we might do next!

Crayons with a heat gun. 4 crafts made at once.

I recenetly caught a heat gun on sale at a tool store the Old Man dragged me to. It was only 13.99 and I had read that it works better then a hair dryer on crayons so I jumped on it! I had it for a few days but didn't get a chance to use it til now. So here's what I did!

First I cut a piece of foam board to the size desired and then painted with some acrylic paint. I couldn't find a paint brush so I used a old gift card to spread the paint and got this cool texture look.
Then I decided the order I wanted and glued them down with a hot glue gun.
Then I went to the basement with my heat gun and set the canvas at a tilt.
After seeing how it gathered at the bottom (I loved the swirls!) I decided to put another piece under it at a less vertical angle and then started again!
Close up. This is what I got off the other canvas.
Look at that metallic!
This is what I got when I pulled the original pool of crayon off the floor and melted it. I Think I am going to call this tree frog of death.... Catchy right? The death just because of the melted skull and tree frog because that's what I see like its coming out of the canvas!
This is just me throwing a skull in the middle and grabbing some crayons snapping off some pieces and then placing them randomly around the skull. Kind of looks like a skull coming out of some oooze and the crayon pieces look like pills.

This is the first one completed at the very beginning of this post.
Sorry about the photo's they were all done from iphone and for some reason all have a shadow and I didnt see anything on the lens. Be careful when you melt metallic crayons they smoke if you stay over them too long.

#Craft project canceled

A few weeks ago I mentioned a craft I was planning on doing that was inspired by this image on pintrest.

Sad to say That project has been axed at this point by the Old man as he said we should do that a later time. So It has been pushed to the side to possibly never happen. The Idea was to make my own back splash behind the stove in my own way and design. Would have been cool to do.

Crayon art part 3: A crayon "Nightmare" experiment. I hope I get it done before "Christmas".

So I had been seeing these crayon art online on Pintrest and tried a few different ways such as this.

Part one.
Part two.
I had a special idea and could see the scene of Nightmare of Christmas in my mind. So I got to work! First I researched and found a image of the scene I was looking at. Then I had to scope how I was going to do this. I had thought about cutting the crayons up and then organizing them and hitting it with a blow dryer to melt it. Well that wouldnt work because they would just blow away! Now if I had a heat gun It would work but I was not trying to go out and buy one. This project took about a week just in the planning stage. I was on Pintrest again  and I saw THIS . So then I knew how to attack this project so I started working.

Crayon art part 2. Blow dryer.

Things needed:
  • A place that you don't care that wax gets everywhere or put up wax paper or a tarp. (tarp is better because it covers more area in case of unexpected messy splatters.)
  • Hair dryer or heat gun
  • Crayons in color of choice
  • Glue gun and glue
  • Time

Crayon art try one. gluegun

So I had been seeing these on Pintrest and been wanting to try these. So I showed it to my business partner to show what I was planing and he was excited! So here's how it was done First he picked the colors and I did it later pinned up some wax paper plugged in the glue gun. I followed the information listed here and This is what it looked liked. I liked the pools of wax at the bottom but it would be in the way to hang up so we snapped off the pieces and sprayed it with clear acrylic. Michael has adopted the piece and will be framed and hung up. Hope you like!

Blue screen of death.

I finished the painting I was working on. I don't like it as much as thought I would, kind of wished I did it in color pencils or grease pencil instead. It was the first time I had painted on a canvas since high school so it could be worse. What do you think of it?
