Art Therapy is a brand new collection of adult coloring publications designed to explore the relaxing benefits of coloring. A huge success in the UK and France, publisher Hachette is bringing Art Therapy subscriptions to the US, available in November 2015.

Carl Jung prescribed coloring to his patients half a century ago and he was on to something! It helps reduce stress and anxiety as it is akin to meditation, which is a powerful form of concentration. Coloring allows people to refocus their energy and encourages individuality.

As you know, adult coloring books have been wildly successful, allowing an older age group to discover peace and tranquility through art and self-expression. Art Therapy’s subscription-based model allows subscribers to receive new coloring pages every week to keep the creativity flowing.

CraftyCroc™ are a fantastic holiday gift on multiple levels. They provide hours of indoor fun for kids during the colder months with their ability to decorate and write on windows, mirrors, plastics, metals, tiles and all manner of non-porous surfaces and their easy clean-up is a joy for parents.

They’re non-odorous and non-toxic making them safe for any children 3 and over with adult supervision. With a modest level of artistic ability, you can create some really cool works of art.

They’re also amazing for holiday season decorations, whether it be Christmas, Hanukkah, Chinese New Year, Halloween etc on the windows of your home, your car, shop fronts, greeting cards, creating dazzling labels on
gifts, kitchen items, chalkboard contact paper, our own CraftyCroc™ Chalkboard Labels and more! (note – we do not recommend them for use on most painted chalkboards as this paint in most cases is highly porous and the ink may leave staining on this medium)

Crafters love them for their amazing bright colors when used in scrapbooking projects. Our kids also love them for decorating other craft projects made from cardboard, boxes, paper towel rolls and more.
The unique packaging and CraftyCroc crocodile character are a huge hit with kids who love this little character.

I got the pleasure of working with Shoplet who carriers and a range of office supplies and just about everything you could ever need or want. I received 3 sharpie products they include

I was most excited about the pen and the neon markers when I was told I was going to be able to do this review. I love sharpies and use them all the time. I actually own every color of sharpie in both regular and fine tip until these neons came out and now I am back to owning them all again! They are fabulous for crafts and drawing. I actually have a few things planned out to do with these markers that you will see in the future.
Did you know you could use a sharpie for nail art?

On to the rest of the story!

Crafting disaster crayons

So today I was going to do a trick I saw online. That trick? Melting crayons in a microwave in a mold to make shaped crayons.

Crayon art part 3: A crayon "Nightmare" experiment. I hope I get it done before "Christmas".

So I had been seeing these crayon art online on Pintrest and tried a few different ways such as this.

Part one.
Part two.
I had a special idea and could see the scene of Nightmare of Christmas in my mind. So I got to work! First I researched and found a image of the scene I was looking at. Then I had to scope how I was going to do this. I had thought about cutting the crayons up and then organizing them and hitting it with a blow dryer to melt it. Well that wouldnt work because they would just blow away! Now if I had a heat gun It would work but I was not trying to go out and buy one. This project took about a week just in the planning stage. I was on Pintrest again  and I saw THIS . So then I knew how to attack this project so I started working.

Crayon art part 2. Blow dryer.

Things needed:
  • A place that you don't care that wax gets everywhere or put up wax paper or a tarp. (tarp is better because it covers more area in case of unexpected messy splatters.)
  • Hair dryer or heat gun
  • Crayons in color of choice
  • Glue gun and glue
  • Time

Crayon art try one. gluegun

So I had been seeing these on Pintrest and been wanting to try these. So I showed it to my business partner to show what I was planing and he was excited! So here's how it was done First he picked the colors and I did it later pinned up some wax paper plugged in the glue gun. I followed the information listed here and This is what it looked liked. I liked the pools of wax at the bottom but it would be in the way to hang up so we snapped off the pieces and sprayed it with clear acrylic. Michael has adopted the piece and will be framed and hung up. Hope you like!

Painting crafts! Little frog bobble head

So I got this frog for secret Santa at work a few years ago. I always said I would paint him but never did as I never had any paints. Well just recently started painting stuff again and figured I have the brushes I have the paints so let's do this! Well I painted him and clear coated but I've noticed that the slightest touch is causing the paint to peel off. I painted and clear coated him in acrylics I'm not sure if that was the right choice. Any suggestions?
