Violent Eyes - Jet Black Glitteratti review

Violent Eyes - Jet Black Glitteratti review

I recently got the chance to review the New Violent Eyes eyeliner tattoos . I also got the review the Violent Lips which you can read about the purple leopard here. I was very excited to try these out more so then the lips as I am still not the best at doing eyeliner other then around the eye and thought these would really look cool with my eyes. I have problems though with makeup basically melting off my eyes, even liquid eyeliner drys, cracks, and then falls off. I was hoping to have better luck with these then I have had with some eyeliners so that this could be my important occasions alternative. Sadly I must say these didn't work on me, no fault of the product its purely my skin that's the culprit here.

PMD use 3

I am getting more comfortable with the PMD system and it takes me half the time it did before. My skin feels crazy soft and I am about to go to bed if you can't tell from my tired eyes in this picture. So I am off to throw on some night cream (this is my first time ever!) and then jump in bed. Not finding any cons to the PMD system just pros.

StarLooks November box Review.

November Box review

I was recently given the awesome opportunity to review the Starlooks November box. I love makeup and always want to try something new. The mystery of what might be in the box had me giddily waiting for it to arrive. The box arrived and the box itself gives the impression of gift wrap and was held closed with a gold stretch cord tied in a bow.

Maybelline New York Great Lash Mascara Pop of Purple Review.

Maybelline New York Great Lash Mascara Pop of Purple
I got this thinking it would be awesome because I loved the idea. Its special edition not something always available for purchase and I got it some time ago and was excited to try it. The results........Not very happy with it. It was like just wearing any other mascara and you couldn't tell it was purple it might work if there was a white primer.
3 coats

So I tried this mascara again and this time I did about 15 coats of the mascara and you could see the purple. The bad thing is I got this spiky effect on my lashes because of clumping. Who knows maybe the spikes will be the next big thing!

PMD use 2: no more practice here.

PMD use 2: no more practice here.

I just finished my second use of the PMD system and this time I used 1 of the small blue disc. The process is painless and I can definitely feel the blood flowing! Its like a thudding tingling numbness... not really sure how else to explain it. Warning if you accidently go over a pimple or other similar it hurts but not to bad its more like a surprise. My skin feels softer already so far I am liking this product!.

PMD use 1

So today I used the training disc and I can say that it took some getting used to. I kept having this issue where my hand Would slip and it would hop across my face but after about the third time I realized it was how I was holding it. So tomorrow I am going to move over to blue disc number 1.

Twilight breaking dawn part 2

So tonight is the opening of the new and final Twilight movie. I wasn't going to go but then some friends said they were going and I decided I want to see the movie and It is the last chance I will get for a midnight showing on opening night for the saga. It seems like midnight showings have only been popular with a few movies and most of those series are over so I felt as this may be my last chance. I never went to any of the Harry Potter things (we all remember how popular that was, I mean locked in B&N all night!!!! Thats a dream!) Never went to any of the twilight celebrations like prom night at B&N. I remember when I watched the last Harry Potter movie after it came out and I was standing at the theater and thinking "I have been watching this since I was in middle school and this is the last time I will be standing here for a new Harry Potter movie." I know it sounds lame but I felt nostalgic. The Lord of the Rings movies didn't even create as big as a buzz as the Twilight or HP saga, or at least after the first movie (the only one I actually watched at the theater.) So I lucked out really to tell you because I tried last night while at work to get my tickets and the site said they were sold out and instead of waiting till I was at the door I called them to see if they were indeed sold out. Great news they were not but they did say some are having issues and told me how to get around it and boom I had my ticket.
I think its really cool that they offered the complete saga as a marathon but I could never stay awake long enough to watch that and then the movie after working 8hrs today. Some of my Co-workers left work early/ took vacation to be able to go watch it. I told them I would be sitting there with a pillow and my gir snuggie on drifting in and out. I may still take my gir snuggie to be nice and toasty tonight.

Will you be going? What are your expectations going into this movie?  How excited are you!!!!!

I have to go to bed early just so I can get up to go so have fun out there all you Twihards and may your energy never fade.

Elf Waterproof Eyeliner Pen Review

So when I first got into eyeliner last year I bought 2 of these as I am lazy and hate sharpening the wooden ones. I got 2 of them one in hunter green and the other in black.
Here is what the site says about them:
e.l.f. Essential Waterproof Eyeliner Pen
Get no smudge with no-budge eyeliner, which creates a fabulous and fresh look of precision that lasts for hours. The smooth pen applicator easily glides on color for very fine to bold lines for effortless beauty.
Plum eyeliner pen is a 2010 Siempre Mujer Makeup Award winner

I am sad to say that both came out of the package dried out. I tried some suggestions like wetting the tip and trying again after setting them tip down for about 24 hours and still barely get a line out of them. After reading the reviews on the site I think I may have just gotten some bad product and I am willing to give them a try again in the future because for $1 its worth another shot.

Have you had any experience with these?

e.l.f. Studio Mineral Infused Face Primer :clear review

I love makeup but I like good prices more. I've been called cheapskate before but I like to think its more frugal. Well I didn't start getting really big into doing makeup the better way until some point last year. I had never used both concealer and foundation powder I just threw on the powder. Eye shadow was a one shade journey I didn't understand blending or smokey eye Hell I didn't even use eyeliner until then.

I had been talking to my friend Suzy and she mentioned when I said I had a problem with makeup basically melting off my face that I should use primer. Now I paint and stuff so I knew what a paint primer did so I assumed it did the same. My friend suggested Sephora but prices there are so high I could never bring myself to spend that much! At the time I was selling avon but I didn't want to pay their prices either So I found an alternative while searching online. That is when I found Elf cosmetics.

So I picked up the e.l.f. Studio Mineral Infused Face Prime and decided to give it a shot. I have alot of acne scars and I have always felt like powder just made them show up more and when I heard primer helped with laying a smooth foundation I didn't quite believe it. Then I tried it and I was amazed at the smoothness and sleekness of my skin, you could say I fell in love.

Here is what the site has to say about it:

e.l.f. Studio Mineral Infused Face Primer

Transform your face into a flawless and smooth canvas with the Mineral Infused Face Primer. Developed to combat against excess oil, flaky dryness, enlarged pores and fine lines. This clear multipurpose skin primer will prepare your skin so makeup goes on evenly for a long lasting satin finish.

Features a new and improved air pump! For best results, you may need to pump the component several times before product dispenses.

Recommended uses:
Tone Adjusting Green is ideal for minimizing redness and correcting blotchy skin.
Brightening Lavender is ideal for uneven skin tones and to brighten dull or yellow tones.
Radiant Glow is ideal for creating a luminizing effect on dark spots and uneven skin tones.

Now the downside.... well the primer itself nothing but the dispenser is ridiculous. The site says you may have to pump several times but I still couldn't get anything to come out. I will give them the benefit of the doubt because I bought my stuff last year and it does say new and improved so I don't know if this is a every time thing. Have you purchased this primer? What was your experience with the dispenser?

All in all for $6 this is totally worth buying! Yeah I have to use the pump to drag some out of the bottle but the primer itself does what I wanted with a price I am willing to pay. I give it 4 stars just because of the packaging.

Music world changing.

I have noticed lately that musicians are changing to a new type of style that kind of resembles 90's dance music (which I LOVE!) and some artist I am having to reconsider my thoughts on.

Growing up I wasn't exposed to much in a variety. My mom was basically all country when I was little and my dad liked to listen to oldies but I was only with him on weekends. I was exposed to what I refer to as 90's dance/alternative (possibly called new wave?) at one of my mom's friends house. I hung out with her kids (mostly her daughter) and I remember jumping around on mattresses that were on the floor in a room with the radio blasting. My middle school years were riddled with rap (which I can't stand) and gave me headaches.

Once I reached high school I found rock & metal. I don't know why I was so afraid my mom wouldn't approve that I hid in my room with headphones plugged into the TV listening to the rock music channel that's provided by the cable company. Finally a few months down the line I was tired of hiding and I told her and she was fine with it. I know you probably think I was nuts or am nuts but I was afraid of disappointing my non perfect mother. So thus became rocker Ruby :)......I'm sorry I couldn't resist.

I remember being asked by my cousin Ruby ( the one that's older then me........yes there is more then one of us! There is about 5 or so living/dead ruby's in 3 generations in my family.) if I wanted to go to the 60's/70's/80's dance I said sure!!! Thats when I found my love of 80's music and that is an addiction that I can't and don't want to break.

I guess though you could consider me an artist snob? I have had preconceived notions about some artists that I haven't allowed them to get past but playing Song-pop I have seen what I am missing. I heard The Who on there the other night and I knew the song and love it but it never once crossed my mind it was The Who playing it. I knew the band name but I had never bothered to look at the music and just assumed it wasn't my type of music. I have always hated Britney spears ( I mean really! I never jumped on the boy band fad either and to me she was just as bad as them.) but once I heard some of her more recent stuff on the radio and found out it was her I was amazed! I found myself liking how it sounded because it brought me back to the 90's dance and jumping around on the bed. I know that is an odd thing to be brought back to but that was during a time when life for me was picture perfect. My mom was around we had food and the bills were paid. She wasn't off doing drugs and leaving me with no food and having to move around because the rent wasn't being paid it was a time when I was really allowed to be a kid. Katy Perry is another one I heard her song wide awake and I started listening to the cd its on and I actually like it.

So now I find myself in a time where those people that sung what I called in middle school "rap crap" are singing things more of my type of music and they actually have nice voices. Although I could do without all the sexual innuendo. Like in WHISTLE byFLO-RIDA but I guess it could be worse it could be like the candy shop song.....that they played at school dances.....muhahahahaha.....its funny now that I am an adult then I didn't listen because I was staring out the window and wasn't listening to the meaning.

Has any artist surprised you with changes they have made to the type of music they make?

Voting

Today I went and voted for the first time in a presidential election. I am not going to get into politics or beliefs here today. I just wanted to say I am happy the way they did it this year as I have head horror stories about trying to go vote. This year they made it where you could go to any voting location no matter where you lived in town and vote. I was in and out in less then 15 mins.

We have more giveaways coming soon and I have been testing out some products and working on book reviews. So stay tuned!

Gir Snuggie review

I love Gir and when I saw this I had to have it. So a few years ago I saw this at Hot Topic and I wanted it so bad. My Old Man went and got it for me for Christmas. It is very warm and long I've even turned it sideways and wrapped it around me like a blanket when I was really cold.
