I feel that most gift guides and round ups focus on what you might call the traditional dad. I wanted to focus that dads come in all kinds from Traditional to Nerdy and ideas that would work for each. I also tried to focus on items with Prime shipping because I know that some of us put shopping off til the last minute (I am totally guilty of this.)

To kick this off with a bang I am here to tell you about this awesome candle I got a chance to review. Since using soy candles I have really fallen in love with soy candles. This is a soy candle with a twist which makes it even better! In each candle is a surprise (ring) and it can be valued at $10, $100, $1,000, or $5,000.

These candles are good for every occasion and will make anyone smile who receives one! 

I recieved my Diamond Candle in watermelon wedge (it was harder than you think to pick and the apple slice tempted me horribly!)

Another great idea for that nerd in your life: video games! An Xbox Live Gold Account or Playstation Network cards vary in price from $20-50, depending on how long of a subscription you want or how many games you want to buy respectfully. Does your man have a Gamefly account? One good suggestion is to buy the game at the top of his list or one with a long waiting period. In no way should you attempt to buy him a game from a store unless you are VERY certain that it is one that he would really like.

There has been much buzz lately in the LoaMT world about what to get our men for Valentine's Day. Most of the suggestions have been sex, ugly ties, and more sex. And while all that does have it's time and place (more on that later), I'd like to give a few tips on what to get our nerdy hubbys/wives on a sensible budget.

When we polled our male compadres on what men really want, several of them mentioned thinkgeek.com . If your not familiar with this store, it is a literal treasure trove of all things men LOVE.

Christmas before last I got my hubby a Han Solo Trapped in Carbonite ice cube tray from there. He loved it. This small $10 gift stole the show.

It's smaller than it looks. I suggest buying two.

This site has many genre specific items. Like Game of Thrones and coffee? There's a mug for that. Does he like Lord of the Rings. Well the hubby might be getting something a little special this year.

I recently got the option to work with pictures on gold. I checked their site and they have this amazing selection of products that they offer. Don't let the name fool you though they work with more then just gold they also do silver. So if you are like me and prefer silver over gold don't fret they have something for you too!

Roses have always been a Valentine favorite, red in particular. Usually considered a safe and easy choice but still excites the one in your life, even more dramatic to have delivered to their place of work. Now guys this one is for you because it would be a little odd to have a woman send a man flowers (unless hes that secure in his masculinity) as it will surely get him teased by his co workers.

One thing that isn't thought of a lot is the policy's in the work place my not allow living flowers at the location. Some its obvious (like a factory) but even in an office environment there is many policy's stating no living plants. Why you may ask? Because the companies are trying to think about those that may have allergies and more importantly (to most companies) keep water away from the computers.
