Let me start telling you all: I'm a infomercial addict, ussually my insomnia will kick 3 or 4 times week and I'm quite used to the night owl life, that's how I came across the Ninja Blender, yeah there are hundreds other blenders. mini blenders, bullets and so on, but for some reason the Ninja and the Shark infomercial are my favorites. I'll share with you a secret while I love to watch their commercials I haven't actually bought anything but I have a big list of infomercial things I want and wish, sadly I'm to lazy to call or order online. Two of  my biggest infomercial products obsessions are the Ninja Ultima Blender and the Topsy Turvy Tomatoes, the tomatoes are still in my list it might be the next thing or the first I actually order, yet they might have to wait since a couple of months ago my informercial dream came true I was given the opportunity to review the Ninja Ultima Blender, yeah you can imagine how happy I was(and I'm) after seeing that email. I was dancing and singing all over the house.

My parents were the proud owners of a Vitamix, it's a great blender but too expensive for my family. My kitchen was full of Hamilton Beach items, which are super affordable, disposable and can be purchased in any Walmart, the blender was ok but every 30 rounds of smoothies we had to buy a new one. My daughter loves smoothies and juicing and so does my son, so a good blender was something my family would actually use daily. A couple of weeks after that  wonderful email my mail-lady left a ginormous package at my door, lucky me hubby was home and dragged it inside. I'm curious by nature so the the outside package didn't last more than 3 mins, the next box was the blender itself, the package was really big, since I'm not the only curious soul at home: everyone(even my cat), was around to check our new blender. Inside the box we found the big motor base, the pitch, 3 single serving cups, 3 single serving sealable lids, one nutri ninja blade, the sealable and lockable pitcher lid, and one removable quad blade.

Since I'm reader, I did the right thing and started to read the manual, however my family had a different idea, while my daughter washed some pieces my husband put all together and my son and cat were gathering fruit and  supplies (milk, yogurt, fruits, spinach, ice, etc), it seems they had no need to read the instructions, since 10 minutes later the blender was assembled and working and 30 mins later we had a variety of smoothies, milk shakes and juices. Sadly they didn't give me the chance to take pictures or make a video. After the first test at home everyone seemed suddenly interested in some healthy drinks, the coke in the fridge was completely forgot.

In the next couple of weeks I had the chance to test and try the ninja in several recipes form salsas, to casseroles, we have done a bunch of healthy and not so healthy drinks, even peanut butter and regular butter (those are 2 of my favorites new homemade recipes). The week after the ninja made its way to our home I wanted to make something special for my hubby since nothing says I love you like "All you can eat: meat tacos buffet" with guacamole and salsa picante. (hot sauce). I ussually hate and I mean hate making  guacamole my old blender would get never really blend the avocado, you would find  huge pieces of onions (in our case shallots) and in the end I always gave up blending and had to use the food processor or do it all by hand. Now the single serving cups are perfect to make a small batch of guacamole and  OMG the consistency was amazing the onions were chopped really small and the avocado was creamy and soft, it was delicious. The hot sauce/salsa or salsa picante seems that always had exact opposite problem instead of  a chunky consistency that's required, it always ended like some sorta tomato fluffy cream,  with the ninja 2 pulses were enough, and you could see the small chunks of tomato, parsley and onion.

A couples of weeks later I decided to make a Bolivian Food Typical plate called Humintas, previously I gave it a try in my old Hamilton Beach but the corn kernels; were my old blenders weak point, the blender would only grind/blend the grains close to the blades and leave intact the ones on top, I had to to blend the corn in small batches and used to take 45 to 1 hour (in a good day) just to have the corn ready. The Ninja  quad blades made it all in 5 mins, there was no need to use small portions, I just tossed 3 cans of corn kernels and the blender did  the job in a couple of mins, now I can cook Humintas as often as I wish and takes me 15 mins to have it ready for the oven.

Making fruit ice-cream is quite easy just frozen fruit a spoon full of greek yogurt and voila delicious healthy fruit ice cream. we have tried and tested  so many things and there is still so many we can do with the Ninja, another perk for this blender is how easy is to make baby food in the single serving cups. After 3 almost 3 months of daily use I haven't found  any challenge for my ninja, in fact this baby just replaced, my baby bullet, juicer, blender, food processor and a couple more speciality items like my butter maker, ice cream and slushies. We use it almost daily if not daily for smoothies and juices or cooking and it works great.

The Ninja Ultima Blender has some amazing specs and when it is compared to the Vitamix they are almost identical. I used my moms vitamix whenever I needed something powerful so I can compare both, they both are pretty  noisy but work the same. The biggest difference is the price I would love to own a Vitamix but with the price of one I can buy 2 ninjas and save some extra. Some specs worth a mention are:

  4. I need to get a blender. I have a personal blender but it's surely not big enough to make a shake or guacamole.

  33. I have one and literally turns ice into snow. I love mine. I don't have the extra cups and the one I have has a high and low speed. I just hope if blades dull we are able to replace them. I wish I would of had this when I had the magic bullet.
