One of my favorite bargain brands is Hard Candy in the last 4 years with the exception of 2 or 3 products out of maybe 50 I loved every single one of them, The brand is sold at Walmart and their prices are so affordable I am always picking something new or some new shade. I'm such a fan of them when Hard Candy announced they would discontinue the fox in a box blush I bought 5 of them just in case. Their glamouflage concealer is a staple in my makeup kit, if you google hard candy and high end dupes you will find hard candy has dupes for one to many high end products. I was sent a couple of Hard Candy products to review and since I'm such a fan I couldn't pass the opportunity to review and find some high end similar products.
The first product I wanted to test and compare with some others was the Sheer Envy Primer Color Correcting, this primer works with skin with a red undertone and helps neutralize the reddish tone for a perfect and more even skin tone. The week I got to test this product my nose was a bit red thanks to the amount of pollen in the air, the consistency is a bit thick and was easy to apply yet it does require a bit of work while applying I couldn't do it properly with my fingers but was perfect with one of those cheap makeup or beauty wedges, once applied it did ease the red on my nose but it was not neutralized.
Now for $8 retailing price, it works wonderful and the results actually remind me of my Smashbox photo Finish Blemish Control which retails for $42 and while Hard Candy takes a little bit more work to apply but the price difference totally makes it worthwhile. Both products allow a lovely matte finish and help to diminish pores and fine lines.
The Hard Candy Long Wear Shadow Primer "Eyes The Limit". My life without eye shadow primer would suck, in Texas we hit 103 degrees every other day in summer and without a good eye shadow primer I'd rather not use any. The Hard Candy eye primer old version was a creamy white silicone based primer it was ok but didn't outlast any of my high-end primers the texture was similar to The Balm: "Put a Lid on It".

The last item was a lovely surprise I love nail polish and I am crazy over glitters (well not so much to take them off). The Spring summer hard candy Collection brings over 10 new nail polish shades and glitters.I was lucky to receive the Mom & Pop nail polish from the Pop Art Collection, this wonderful glitter is a mix of hexagonal small pieces in pale pastels like green, yellow, rose, orange and holo silver, this glitter is a bit tricky to apply it requires more than 3 coats for a semi cover option and one coat for a sparse application, it does look wonderful with 1 or more than 3 coats but anything over 3 coats takes to long to dry.

Looks beautiful. i think i'll try it soon! I have never tried hard candy before :) thanks for suggestion :)
ReplyDeleteI'm big on CC creams and primers. I love how your makeup stays longer and applies easier. Next time I need to replenish my stash, I'll go check on these products.
ReplyDeleteI love Hard Candy for a few things. Their glamoflauge concealer is amazing. I haven't tried these products before. I'll tell you my affordable "primer" secret. I use Monistat Chaffing Gel Powder. It actually isn't a product meant for what Monistat is known for lol. It contains the same active ingredient as all expensive primers. Works amazingly. Cheap && lasts forever.
ReplyDeleteI love these products, I use them quite frequently.
ReplyDeleteThis is not up my alley, lol, but I will share this with my spouse. Great name for a product, I was looking for some candy.
ReplyDeleteI will need to try the eye primer. I was just thinking I need to some up, but wasn't sure what I wanted to get. This helps:)
ReplyDeleteLove the glitter polish. I am also a glitter polish lover although I agree about the taking it off.. Glitter polish is a pain to remove.
ReplyDeleteI love Hard Candy although I haven't tried anything of theirs in awhile. I'm always looking for a good primer so I'm going to look for that. And I'm obsessed with glitter nail polish and I just love that color!
ReplyDeleteThank you for pointing out a brand that is so easily accessible. A lot of the time we see almost unheard of brands that aren't easily found and this just makes it easy on us as consumers.
ReplyDeleteLooks like some really great products Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteThose are some great looking products. I love the glitter nail polish.

for the primer this is what I can say for the price, this primer does a good job, especially in comparison to other cheap, drugstore brands. I tested it by applying eye shadow to both eyes - one with primer and one without. The primer made it last much longer, and not smudge as my eye shadow normally does. Aside from some slight creasing, the shadow looked very similar to what it did when it was first applied
ReplyDeleteThe first time I head about Hard Candy was when I worked at Walmart Vision center. The store carries their brand for glasses frame. Didn't know they have beauty products too. Cool!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so happy to hear the Hard Candy Eyeshadow Primer is almost a dupe for the Urban Decay! I had my makeup done at Sephora and they used the primer and I'm a believer! (I'm in Texas too) I'm glad I can get the Hard Candy for way less!!! Thanks for the great tip!
ReplyDeleteHard Candy was so popular when I Was younger. I didn't know they had expanded to have all these products!
ReplyDeleteSounds like great products! I did not know this brand yet but it seems to be a very good one. Thank you for the information!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I've never heard of this brand. I'll share this with the teens!
ReplyDeleteGreat products you have!! I love reading this kind of posts since I learn so much
ReplyDeleteI love Hard Candy, these are some great products. Love the colors btw!
ReplyDeleteI don't know why but I am scared of glitter on my nails. I think it's mostly to do with the fact that I suck at painting them and don't want people to be drawn to the glitter!
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for a good primer. I will have to check this out in the store. Thanks for sharing.
