Caviar nails Ciate review

Caviar nails Ciate reviewThere is a new trend that is going on called Caviar manicure or micro beads manicure. If you check online you will find it everywhere. Its even carried by your local Sephora!!! So what is a caviar manicure you ask? Well its where you put these precious pearls on you nail while its still wet thus leaving the nail covered in the pearls, its very eye catching and different.

I got the chance to work with Ciate recently and received the caviar manicure in Headturner. Its a nice turquoise and brass colored pearls.

Very excited when this arrived I took it to work and we made a night of passing around the box and doing our nails. We were all fascinated by the beads. One thing that everyone said was they couldn't seem to ignore they were there. Michael found himself looking at them over and over as if he was hypnotized. The process was very easy to complete and everything you need is in this box.

With flash to show better color.
Even the packaging plays a part in the manicure process. The lid that goes over the polish and funnel is your bead catcher.

Something we noticed was that when we put on clear coat to try to help extend the life of the manicure they color seemed to be removed from the pearls and stained the clear coat brush.. We tried several clear coats to see if maybe it was the clear coat that was the problem but no matter what the issue reoccurred. Some liked how it looked with the clear coat.

We had 4 testers using this product and some didn't keep it on and some did. It was noticed the urge to pick at it was strong and one did remove them all leaving the little silver dots on the polish looked pretty cool. Did you know if you run your nails across each other it sounds like a nail file with these on? Well it totally does!

Michael day 2

As you can tell right around the tips the caviar is missing. We type a lot every day because our whole job is done on the pc so these took quite a beating. Kasey is busy mom of 3 and you can see that hers took more damage then that of Michael. Debbi and Jessica both removed theirs before returning to work the next night.

Removal
To remove it is suggested you use a cotton ball soaked in remover and press and hold on the nail. Well Unfortunately we didn't have any at our disposal so instead he removed it by pulling them off and Kasey with some diligence, qtip, and remover.

Some nails came off whole others came off in pieces.

Jessica D ~
It was just aggravating, trying to zip up your pants it gets in the way, it increases the "width" of the nail, so things like opening the little "clasp" to plug in the charger on my phone was a pain.

~I really liked the idea and look of the caviar nails. They were really cute and easy to apply. You defiantly have to make sure they are fully dried before trying to do anything or else the balls will fall off, and are quite messy. I didn't like that when a top coat was applied it took the color right off the balls and changed the look and color of the nail. Because no top coat was applied, you get the balls stuck on everything and they fall off. Other than the fact that you would only be able to wear them for 1-2 days, they are a cute idea. Recommendation would be to include a top coat to apply that won't strip the color off the balls so the polish is more durable.

Michael~
Great for a night out but not everyday use.

Debbi~ Great for a party or night on the town to do something different. Not very practical for everyday use.

So the Judges are in and give this a 3 out of 5 stars for being different and looking great but not long of a life span.
