Is My Child Ready For A Cell Phone Giveaway

Is My Child Ready For A Cell Phone Giveaway

This is a huge question now-a-days. There is the worry of when your kid is dropped off somewhere. If something happens at school can you get a hold of your child? What about the child having divorced parents and you want to get ahold of them? Let's not forget peer pressure. Some how I managed my youth without a cell phone. We used house phones or payphones. But both are a thing of that past. Many households don't even have landlines. There are questions to ask, to know if your child is ready for a cell phone. Sprint is there for parents to help tackle tough questions.

Average Age Of Kid With A Cell Phone.

When I read this I was shocked. If this is the average, what is the low age? 8? That means either you have to have a very responsible kid or make sure you have a customized phone to protect your kid. There are a lot of predators on social media. If you are in doubt take the Online Quiz Sprint offers to help parents make informed decisions. There is even a customized parent-child mobile contract to set parameters and agree upon rules and limits. 64 percent of kids already have internet access via personal tablets/laptops. According to Sprint 1 in 2 kids will have a social media account by age 12. I think in the last year that number is higher. So, when is your child ready for a cell phone?

  Questions To Ask Yourself:
  1. What will my child be using this phone for? Is it a want or a need?
  2. What rules do I want in the cell phone contract?
  3. What will happen if my child breaks the rules?
  4. Do I want my child to have full access to the internet or what restrictions am I setting up the phone with? Do I want my child to have social media? If yes, make sure you write all user names and passwords in the contract.
  5. Make sure to discuss what to do if cyber-bullying happens.

Power Theory® Credit Card-Sized 2500mAh Portable Charger External Battery Pack with built-in USB & Apple® Lightning Cable. The PowerCard is a Lightweight Backup Phone Power Bank That Fits in a Pocket or Wallet and Works Great for iPhone 5/6, Samsung Galaxy, HTC, Nexus and More.

  • THE POWERCARD - A PERFECT COMBINATION OF POWER, SIZE & WEIGHT. Many products claim to be "the world's thinnest, lightest power bank". Usually that just means they don't have enough juice to actually charge your phone enough to use it. If you compare our ratio of weight (60g/2.1oz), to compact size (3.75 x 2.4 x 1/4 inches) to powerful charge (2500 mAh Real Capacity) you will not find a better external battery charger for emergency situations or those days where you need a little extra power.

NO MORE FUSSING AROUND IN YOUR BAG FOR ANNOYING CHARGING CABLES. A portable battery charger is not really portable if you have to also carry the cables that easily break or tangle. Our smartly designed external power bank has a built-in Micro USB and Apple Lightning Cable meaning you have everything need to charge your phone when you need it the most.

NEVER RUN OUT OF BATTERY POWER AGAIN. External battery packs are a great idea in theory, but we found that we never seemed to have them on hand when we needed them the most. To solve this we designed the PowerCard. Our lightweight design means you can always carry the charger with you whether you are out on business, travel or at a restaurant. Our A+ Li-Polymer battery cell (2500 mAh) means that you can depend on the PowerCard to fully charge almost all smartphones.

I have been an OtterBox user for quite a few years. When the iphone 6+ came out I was sadden to see that Otterbox was slow on the draw and hadn't released any cases. So I dealt with another case while waiting and hoping for the otterbox to be released. Sadly the case I settled with was $60 and the only case that the store had that was considered to be as safe as an otterbox. Let me tell you I hated that case with a passion. I will be reviewing that case in its own post soon. When I pulled the Crusta from the box I loved how it felt in my hands. While weary about the open back when I first opened it I now love how well it sits in my hands. I find it easier to hold the phone and be able to take pictures one handed where with my old case I couldn't without dropping the phone.

I am horrible at putting on screen protectors on devices. I usually ruin them with huge bubbles and end up having to buy a new one and having the Old Man put it on for me. So while I was super excited to be able to try a tempered glass screen protector I was fearful of the application.

The screen protector comes with:
de dusting film
alcohol pad
cleaning cloth,
squeegee card

+LIFEGUARD MINI Review

This has saved my butt so many times in the short time I have had it. During my trip to Nashville I used this while on the road to keep my device charged up when the battery was getting low. I have a few portable batteries and I charge them all when I am going to be away from a power supply because you never know when you will need power.

When you hold it, it has some weight to it. Not so much that it is a burden but more that it is well made.

Dimensions
Size (LWH): 3.8 inches, 1 inches, 0.9 inches
Weight: 3.36 ounces

Blacksmith - Labs BARRETT FOR APPLE IPHONE 5/5S - BLACK LEATHER #review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I got this awesome leather case for iphone to review. Even the box screams luxurious. Here is a little about the product.

BARRETT COLLECTION

The Blacksmith-Labs BARRETT was designed with traditions in mind, with a classic look that never goes out of style. The design goal is very simple: to create an elegant yet functional holster with clean lines. The result is a perfectly proportioned holster in our premium leather. Each piece of our leather has its own special touch and unique texture. To further enhance the classical elegant design, every BARRETT is finished with ultra fine stitching to give an unmistaken look and feel of refinement. Combined with our Blacksmith-Labs Signature Series metal belt clip, the BARRETT is the perfect companion of your bespoke outfits to complement your everyday life.
The first thing you notice when you pick up the Barrett is the texture. Its made from soft pliant leather that feels amazing when you touch it. I don't think I have ever seen leather like this in the past. The second thing you notice is the smell of the leather. I have never really known what people meant by loving the smell of leather; most leather I had smelled didn't appeal to me, but this smells amazing. It makes me think of new things and new beginnings.

The only thing I would wish to change on this case would be the clasp. To me if I was wearing this on my hip I think this would be difficult to close.  You have to push the leather flap over the metal stud until it goes through the hole on the flap. I would like to see this with a magnetic enclosure instead just for convenience sake. Although the current enclosure would make it more difficult for someone to steal your phone without you noticing unlike the magnetic clip.

This case is great for those that don't use otterbox and just toss it in their purse (like a lot of my co workers.) Please if you are going to toss your iphone in your bag with screen protector or case on it please get something like this to slip your phone in first to protect your investment. It makes me cringe when people just toss it in carelessly.

I love the metal belt clip! I am a sucker for brushed metal and love that its the same shape as the logo. You can feel the strength of the clip when you open it. Have no fear when this is clipped to you its not going to go anywhere. I used to have a case that I got at an autoparts store that slipped over and didn't actually clip and if I was to lean too far one way it would fall off. Scared me quite a few times but not with this!

These retail for $79.95 and are worth every penny.

Order them at:
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

The trials and tribulations of rooting an LG Thrill

I had a friend that wanted to root their LG thrill and gave the task to me. Now rooting is not something I had ever tried or even looked into. So the research began I spent about 3 hours just looking into information. Found multiple ways to do it so I started trying them. They weren't that detailed so I tried them because they said to wait 15 mins and if it didn't to try again. So here is the list of the things that I tried.

  • super one click: used 3 different ways every time I tried to run this program it would go to not responding after only a few mins.
  • ginger break: tried  4 times This requires no pc to do you download the file and run it on your device. It said to wait also 15mins and it should reboot I waited 20 each time and then hard reset still no root. I tried this one about 3-5 times.
  • tried batch file same issue: This was another program I got from online I downloaded the file and ran the software it kept getting stuck. After 3 tries I gave up.
  • unliversal androot: is another with no pc needed I tried multiple times without count and got this weird message.

So after 1 failed day of trying to root this device I reached out to those that I have had do mine in the past and asked for advice. They got back to me a few hours later. So in the end the things I was missing was manually downloading the drivers from lg's website (which all the instructions just said to plug the phone in and let it install the drivers.) and to make sure that I unplugged the Samsung galaxy s 2 that I was tethering for the internet connection. Did that and boom flew through and was rooted in less than 20 mins.

I hope you enjoyed this story of me pulling my hair out have fun see you next time.

How apple could drop the ball with the next iPhone.

I was just checking my email and found this and I can say they are correct on these (except its bit iPhone 5! )http://lifeofmadtyper.blogspot.com/2012/05/iphone-5-and-why-it-will-never-exist.html?m=1

here is to read what they said:
http://www.retrevo.com/content/trackback/2063

They also missed making the phone LTE (4G) if apple doesn't do that it could see a lot of users flocking to the 4g compatible androids.
