Helloooo readers, we haven't officially met yet but I think we'll get to know each other soon enough. I will be doing a formal intro post in the future but for now: Hi I'm Netters!
Gotta love that feeling when you squash one of your biggest polish lemmings. Recently, thanks to her wonderful kindness, I was able to get my hands on the entire Musketeers collection from European indie maker Polish Alcoholic. I've loved pretty much anything to do with every variation of The Musketeers for as long as I remember. Most recent in my heart however has been the BBC series The Musketeers. I discovered this collection not long after the show aired on BBC America and immediately added it to my wishlist. However before I could purchase it Aramis sold out! Boo. I decided to contact the owner out of desperation and she was sweet enough to make more Aramis so I could purchase the whole collection and at sale prices to boot. I swooned harder for these babies than their respective actors on the show...and that's pretty hard.
From L to R: D’Artagnan, Porthos, Aramis, Athos
I obviously couldn't pick just one to try first so I ended up using them all! After all one for all, and all for one mani right? They compliment each other beautifully and the whole combo screams fall (I know, I know it's way too early for that F word)
From L to R: Porthos, Aramis, Athos, D'Artagnan
All four polishes had impeccable formulas and color pay offs. The macro shots below help show the delicious subtleties of each of these bad boys.
Aramis is a deep plum jelly base with gold flakes and a smattering of holo particles.
Porthos is a peachy pink toned nude with scattered holo and a pink shimmer.
Athos is a pumpkin orange base with a strong green shifty shimmer and what looks like pink/green/gold flakies.
D'Artagnan is an dusty army green linear holo.
I only have one problem with this collection, they are only 10 ml vs 15 ml. But I'd say not having enough of a polish isn't that big of a complaint! Unfortunately this collection is no longer available for purchase but there are plenty of other fantastic polishes over on the Polish Alcoholic etsy page. Which out of this collection is your favorite?
