When I heard about this collection I was super excited because I adore jellys and glitter so I knew these were going to be beauties. NYC is a affordable cosmetic brand that can be found at most drugstores. These polishes go for $1.99 each but the display (at least at the rite aid I saw them in) have a $1 off coupon good till Nov. I was sent all but Queen's Jewels for review, I purchased Queen's Jewels at rite aid using the coupon.

I did not try to Matte these but I have seen some shots of them mattified and they were even more gorgeous. I have been tempted to go out and buy extras of these but I decided to leave some for the rest of the nail addicts in my area.

The collection consists of:
Rule the City (Gunmetal with red glitter, not included in this post)
NY Princess (Purple)
Queen's Jewels (Green)
Fashion Queen (gold, not included in this post)
Ruby Queen (Red)
Blue Majesty (You guessed it, blue!)

If you want this collection and you see it I highly recommend picking it up as it is limited edition and hard to find.

On to the pictures!
I did have some issues with clean up with this collection. I highly recommend using pure acetone when cleaning these up as polish remover doesn't tame these babies very well. I did not have issues with these staining my nails was more of an issue of getting the glitter off. It came off the nail easy but went everywhere once the base was removed the glitter wanted to stick to me to the point I had to use my nails to get it off my skin. Probably will not be an issue if you use acetone which I forgot at work and didn't have on hand during this swatch fest. I did experience some staining of the cuticles that took extra work to remove. All are 2 coats over 2 coats of avon smooth beginnings with no topcoat.

Purple jelly base with purple and blue glitter. I love purple its one of my favorite colors and is a perfect for fall colors if you follow polish color trends.

This is gorgeous green jelly base with green glitter. It makes me think of Wizard of OZ Emerald city. Another color perfect for fall and winter. This and Ruby Queen would make an amazing Christmas mani!
This one was slightly more easy to clean up but stained my cuticles.

I love the name of this one, maybe I am just biased! It has blue, purple, and red glitter. I love that they chose what the did to add to it and not go with gold like I have seen paired with red over and over again. I guess you could say I am kind of biased against gold and in my entire collection I would say I might have 3 gold polishes.

Blue Majesty is probably my favorite in the entire collection. It makes me think of the ocean and mermaids. Which is fitting and why I used it in my mermaid manicure I did a few weeks back.

It is a blue jelly filled with blue and teal glitters. It sparkles like crazy in the sun and I found myself staring at it every chance I got when outside. If I could only have one of this collection this would be the one I would choose.

Overall I love the collection but the clean up can be a pain but in the end it is worth it. Which color do you like the most? Have you found this collection in your area?

Also here is something new for you! I am including a video swatch so you can see these beauties in action!

  1. Wow, these colors are so brilliant! I think my favorite is the Blue Majesty. I love your mermaid manicure. That is so cool. How did you do it? I can paint my nails fairly successfully but not so good at creating designs.

    1. I actually used stamping plates to do it. Stamping make nail art a snap. So much easier than free hand.
