I'm a sucker for manga, Japanese food, makeup, candies, etc basically I love how they can produce so many cute stuffs. The kawaii culture is really big in Asia and more people in the US are drawn to the cuteness overload, so when I had the chance to review the
Yochi Yochi shoes I was super excited. The company is proud to introduce one of the latest trends in Japan the squeaky shoes and while the noise is fun to some point the sound also works as security feature, you will always know where your child is or when he is on the move, plus it seems the squeak can reinforce the natural rhythm and help your kid to train their walking.
I received the
Capitan Zuga shoes to review, the shoes have a super cute Skull with crossbones as ears, the detail repeats itself in the back of the shoes. The shoe are ultra light and feature a small removable diaphragm in each heel (placed at the side of the soles). The shoe itself is made with high quality nylon the fabric inside is solid and soft to keep your baby feet comfortable and the outside fabric is texturized like mesh to allow the air flow, the shoes can be closed and secured by a velcro band, which makes putting them on and taking off really easy. The shoes soles are made with a durable rubber sole. The company is also proud to apply some environmentally friendly practices in the manufacturing of the shoes like: the use of water based dyes, energy efficient equipment allow the company to use 25% less energy than others and the storage of rain water for daily factory use.
We tested the shoes with the son of a friend and while he is only 9 months old, he runs all over the house in his adorable walker . The shoes size is a 5 and the baby only wears size 3 so the shoes were a bit big, we solved the problem with a bunch of cotton balls inside, since it was only a test yet her baby went crazy as soon as he figured out the squeak was coming form the shoes, he was running back and forth with his little walker just to make the shoes squeak. Once he was ready for nursing time and a nap we took the shoes off and the baby started crying until we put the shoes back on his chubby feet, we had to wait for him to fall asleep to take the shoes off without tears.
The baby who tested the shoes had so much fun with them that his mommy ordered a pair of Yochis in his size and she was not the only one another 3 friends who were at her house (we had a small friends meeting) fell in love with the shoes for their little ones. Last week I stumbled upon one of them and her 24 months toddler at Target and her daughter was wearing some adorable ladybug Yochi Yochi shoes, everyone at the store was smiling and asking about her shoes and the safety bonus works well, we kept chatting for quite a while and we could hear her daughter around, squeaking her way through the children apparel section. My friend was happy she could easily keep track of her daughter's whereabouts.
