Once again I'll attempt to breastfeed my  baby, I've already used this method with my 2 older kids: until 8 months with my daughter and around 2 months with my son thanks to work and my gallbladder surgery. After 14 years it's not easy to remember what to do, how to do it, and what you need to do it. Gathering info was not hard but there is so much info out there some people make breastfeeding like a weekend in hell and others make it sound like it's as easy as chewing bubblegum, Yet if I can remember something it's that the first weeks are not easy, I remember cracked and bleeding nipples and some pain, it was hard, it wasn't hell but it was not easy and if you cannot properly breastfeed your baby you feel as if you were failing her/him.

I've been reading everywhere and looking for answers on how to avoid this from happening, of course a good latch is the best method but some tricks might help:  first keep your nipples dry while you are not feeding your child and apply some lanolin ointment,  if you recently had a baby and your milk came you know how hard it is to keep them dry, it seems you cannot turn off the milk flow and it might take a while for the amount of milk to regulate itself while you wait for this to happen some nursing pads might be useful. That's where Lansinoh comes to help. For 30 years Lansinoh has been helping moms and supporting  breastfeeding with an array of different products.

Their  breastfeeding essentials: are the Lansinoh Lanolin HPA, which will help you with prenatal care and while breastfeeding.  Applying the  Lanolin HPA before your baby is here will help to keep the skin healthy and moisturized and while breastfeeding the ointment will help you reduce the  sorenees or cracked discomfort in your nipples. The  Lansinoh Disposable Nursing Pads are thin and dont show through your clothes like other bulky and un-comfy pads in the market, they're quilted, breathable, with honeycomb lining design ensures that you and your clothing will stay dry day and night even with the heaviest flow, the moisture lock activator wicks away leaked milk. The pads have two different adhesive strips to keep them in place. With Lansinoh breastfeeding essentials you will not only enjoy the experience but you will be protected and feel more secure  while using the #1 brand recommend by Lactation Consultants.

  8. Breastfeeding is probably the one activity I fear the most. My sister had a really tough time with it ... pain, cracked nipples, and even bleeding like you mentioned.

  10. Sadly, I never got to breastfeed so I would have no idea, but I do have a friend who complains about her nipples a lot as she is breastfeeding. So I will have to forward this to her!

  15. I breastfed my daughter for 13 months and Lanisoh was what I used when I first started. The cream is awesome and prevented my nipples from cracking. I tell everyone to use it.
