I'm a compulsive obsessive planner. I'm one of those people who likes to have everything ready way ahead of time, with a baby on the way I think I'm getting even worse, some people call this phase nesting, but it seems I have been nesting since week 7. My nursery was ready at week 20, the strollers too, I have 3 just in case, the car seats and bases, lotions, shampoo, diapers, clothing (tons of it) organized by months from preemie to 12 months, yup that's how obsessive I am. While I had all my baby gear ready I knew I was missing something and it wasn't until I started thinking of breast pumps, bottles, sippy cups, baby bowls, I started freaking out thinking where would I feed my baby, yup I was back in the market searching for a High Chair.

For 2 weeks I dragged my dear husband form store to store (Walmart, Toy's r Us, Buy Buy Baby, Target, etc), yard sales, thrift stores and one flea market to look for a chair that would make my princess feeding time perfect (Not only am I an obsessive compulsive planner but also a perfectionist) As always my husband  was ready to buy the first chair we saw no matter how much it was or  how good it was if it meant for him to go back home and sit in front of his pc to start gaming while snacking  on dip and chips. I have to be honest the plastic chairs and the boosters are not for me, yes they are cute some even feature Winnie the Pooh or Minnie Mouse, but I wanted something else. I really wanted a wood high chair but not the vintage kind something more modern with clean lines, of course I went to check the Stokke high chair everyone talk about but after some research and bunch of complains about their trays I just moved on. The kekaroo and Hauck are similar but aesthetically something was missing, I came across Abiie Beyond Junior Y on Amazon.com their beautiful wood chair was stunning to look at and I couldn't take my eyes off the sleek and stylish design. The more I read about this chair the more convinced I was the chair was everything we needed. Sometimes life works in mysterious ways so when people from Abiie offered me the opportunity to review and test this amazing chair, it was like a dream come true.

A couple of weeks ago the doorbell  rang and as always I went to open the door and talk a bit with the nice lady who delivers Fedex (I could see her truck through my windows), She had a 3 and half feet tall and 2 feet wide box with the word Abiie Beyong Junior Y, I was so excited I barely said: " Hi have a nice day. Bye"  closed the door took a picture of the box and tore it apart  and as always I had to call my husband because I truly hate to assemble any kind of furniture, well, my husband was busy and told me he would help me later, not good enough, I wanted it done fast so I started to do it myself, I'm glad to say this chair is fool proof even for someone like me who cannot put together a coffee-maker out of the box, it took me 30 mins with breaks for cookies and milk to put the chair together, of course my husband came by and supervised all my work, he was really impressed for how easy it was to assemble. Once put together the chair is aesthetically  pleasant and looks wonderful in the kitchen or in your dinning room.

The chair has several features worth mentioning but for me the  ability to grow up with your child (6 month +)  it's certainly the most important, I really like the fact this chair will work  for a 6 month baby and later  as a desk chair for a teenager and will not just take room, after its served its purpose like every other baby gear. Once my baby is old enough to sit in a regular chair and join us in the table her/his chair will be re-purposed in her bedroom or around the house. One of the things my husband and I took in consideration and can be a deal breaker for us, are the security standards in our baby gear, I was so pleased to read  how the Beyond Junior chair exceeded all the ASTM F-404, ASTM F404-07 and passed all the security tests performed by the SGS (one of the most reputable independent labs in the world, www.sgs.com).

The Abiie Beyond Junior is free of: BPA, Phthalate, PVC, Nitrosamine, Latex and Formaldehyde or any other potentially harmful substances, even the beautiful finish is created with a certified-safe and non-toxic lacquer. The brackets in the chair are made of durable and strong ABS material and the food tray can hold up  to 40 pounds. The dual restrain system can be adjust for a 5 or 3 harness points while keeping the little ones safe and comfy. Their patented EZ-seat feature allows you to adjust the seat and the foot rest in less than 20 seconds, their BPA free plastic tray can be removed with one hand and is dishwasher-safe, one of the most amazing characteristics of the Abiie Beyond Junior Y Chair for me, is how easy it is to clean the detachable seat pads and how they are designed to be machine or hand washed.

The  Beyond Junior Y is also environmentally friendly, made of the highest quality cultivated beech wood (which are biodegradable and recyclable), the trees are carefully selected to keep the forest sustainable productive but healthy. The Beech wood makes this chair sturdy, light and easy to drag around with a gross weight of only 20lb (aprox 9kg). The Beyond Junior Y high chair comes in mahogany with white seat pads and natural wood with green seat pads.

Overall I think the Abiie  Beyond Junior Y High Chair is not only one of the most stylish and modern looking in the market but keeps your child safe and comfortable, we tested the chair with a friends toddler and 8 month old baby they both were pretty comfy the baby was really safe with the 5 points harness restraint system, she even asked me where she could purchase it. I'm really happy with my baby's high chair and cannot wait to see him or her grow up and  hopefully she will still be using her chair in 10 or 15 years.
