Baking and cooking is my thing and I'm always looking for pots, pans to bake or just cook on the stove. I'm
a member of a couple discussion forums and facebook groups about cooking and baking and one of the members couldn't stop raving about G&S Metal baking pans, he was impressed by their quality, durability, price and the non stick coating. He was not the only one as soon as this guy started talking about G&S Metals everyone in this forum board was raving about it. After this I had to go to my kitchen and check if I had one or their products, sadly I didn't.
I live a bit far away from most mass and retailer stores in my town, and my shopping is mostly done online or in the small walmart, kroger, walgreens and CVS, that are within a couple of miles from my house. I went to all the usual stores to find out if they had G&S metals on their inventory, yet none of the stores close to home had it. I wasn't ready to give-up,so I got in touch with their Public Relationship and Sales Manager who kindly allowed me to test their products in exchange for a honest review. They sent me 2 lovely products from their Preferred Line: The Bake & Roast Pan and the Square Cake Pan.
For 2 weeks I couldn't decide what to bake on them. I had one of those creative Baker/Cook Blocks (like writers block), So I spent a couple of days checking my mom and grandma's recipe notebooks and some of my favorite blogs. Finally I came up with the idea of roasting a simple Sirloin Pork Steak and some baby potatoes and thyme. For the square cake pan I tested it with a baked Huminta a Bolivian typical snack.
G&S Metal's is a company with over 65 years providing the american market with innovative products and affordable prices. The company bakeware is mostly made from steel and uses a process called coil coating which is 100% more efficient. The use of steel (the most recycled metal in the world) and the company's efforts to comply and exceed every environmental regulation applicable to their industry allows the company to become as eco-efficient as they can.
The Preferred Bakeware line has been designed to be user friendly and simplify baking through:
-Anti-warp sidewalls to strengthen the pan and avoid the heat distortion.
- Over sized rims (all 4 sides) to allow a better grip and easy handling.
- DuraGlide plus reinforced non-stick dishwasher safe finish,
- Heavy Weight Steel for an even heat distribution.
- US & metric system, stamped in the edges
- and it's made in America.

This looks like a great quality product. I've had bad luck with pans in the past before, so I use glass whenever possible. If I ever switch back, I'll look at this brand for all of my cooking needs!
