While pregnancy is a beautiful experience and has it's perks (for a few lucky ones), not everything is perfect in preggo land. Not every mom to be has glowing skin and hair or looks and feels more gorgeous than ever. The hard truth is most pregnant women while happy and expectant get more than what they bargained for:  they suddenly become a bottomless pit, the acne takes over , swollen ankles, crazy active bladders, backache, sore breasts, nausea and morning sickness, and stretch marks. I have 2 kids and one on the way; with my two previous pregnancies I did everything to avoid stretch marks nothing actually worked, but it wasn't the hundreds of products I bought, it was my own body and dry skin refusing to lend a helping hand.

I have some stretch marks but most of them where hard to see with some tricks, now with my baby growing up everyday more and more I'm trying to work on keeping the stretch marks at bay. this time the plan  is to fight them inside out. My diet includes more vegetables and grains but also lots of water and some useful fat. My biggest fight right now is with the acne on my cheeks since I'm keeping my stretch marks under control. A couple of weeks ago while  reading some of my favorite blogs, I came across a review for: "Fairhaven Health: prenatal vitamins", the review was interesting  but I wanted to know more, that night I spent a couple of hours looking at their products and reading most of their costumer reviews (most are positive which is quite impressive).

The website itself is quite appealing and organized ,easy to navigate, the products descriptions are well written and detailed. Not only do they offer products, but they have an impressive database center, from blogs to articles in the different areas they cover like: pregnancy, nursing and fertility and conception. I spent a good amount of time reading  reviews, articles and blog posts, with a ton of new info. I contacted them for a review opportunity, their public relationships team (Sarah) is great, patient and helpful, the company sent me 3 wonderful items for my review all of them to care for my bump inside and out.

I was sent the: Fairhaven Health Dream Belly stretch mark cream, Butter and Tea-for-Two. All their products are natural and made in base to oils, butters and extracts from plants, fruits and herbs. I started using with the Dream Belly stretch mark cream 22 weeks ago, the consistency is similar to a body lotion, it has a really soft citric fragrance (orange if i'm not wrong), it absorbs easily and leaves your skin feeling moisturized and  deeply hydrated, my bump feels soft and silky. I think my little tadpole enjoys when it's time to apply the stretch mark products, the silkiness of the cream makes it so easy to rub and massage my belly and it actually makes me feel closer to my baby.

I should mention that before getting pregnant I was over-weight and controlling my weight has been a little hard on me (physically and mentally). I had no clue I was pregnant until my week 12/13 and I didn't actually pay attention to my bump, who would even think in 3/4 month it could be noticeable. Huge mistake two big red stretch marks were already there, in the last couple of weeks I have been working diligently on my tummy applying every morning  and night the stretch mark cream (and later on the butter), while I cannot make the marks magically vanish, I can work on trying to get no more: keeping an eye on my diet and applying the Fairhaven products zealously. I'm quite sure if I keep my routine eventually they will fade.

I ran out of stretch mark cream after almost 16 days after of use, I'm currently using the Fairhaven Dream Belly Strecth Mark Butter and I have no words to tell you how much I love this product. I've been treating my belly with Palmer's Tummy Butter for the last 4 years, It used to be my holy grail, but I must admit it felt greasy, lumpy and hard to apply compared to the Dream Belly Butter, the Fairhaven's Butter consistency and the texture reminds me to the old (really old) Nivea. I was sold by the texture and the butter consistency, you dont need to rub, it glides effortlessly around your bump. Both products will leave your skin feeling  hydrated, moisturized, soft but the silkiness you can feel after applying the butter is "luxurious" (I cannot find another word to describe it) absorbs really easy without leaving an oily or slippery feeling . The butter has a velvety rich and heavy texture which is perfectly paired with a faint and delicate floral fragrance.

The last product Fairhaven Health sent was the Tea-for-Two, as an avid tea drinker (I like it hot), I couldn't wait to try this product, I was familiar with some of the ingredients like ginger, verbena, and dandelion leaf. I've used them before. The alfa-alfa was a plus, it's quite popular with pregnant and nursing moms in my country. The oat-straw and the strawberry leaf were definitively new ones. My first impression was the smell it's kindred to the yerba mate fragrance, so it made me feel at home, the taste is similar as well, for those who haven't tried it before the taste is herbal but faintly bitter, it gets better even scrumptious with a little bit of honey or  brown sugar. I love how relaxed and calm I feel after drinking this tea yet I dont  have the sleepy effect most anti-stress products cause. It's a really nice tea and good option to all the unhealthy drinks pregnancy makes you crave for. I loved to drink a cup Tea-for-Two before bed.

So far my experience with Fairhaven Health was really positive I enjoyed every single product they sent. They offer high-quality natural products specifically formulated for moms-to-be or nursing moms. Those looking to conceive or treat infertility can find a great assorted selection. The company is committed to create and develop safe and natural products to treat, infertility, help conceive, promote pregnancy wellness and breastfeeding success.

You can purchase Fairhaven Health products directly from their website or through  their distribution partners like: drugstore.com, CVS.com, walgreens.com. For promotions, giveaways and news  follow Faihaven Healthy media outlets:

  1. I've never been pregnant and I'm not a mother, but I think the TEA-FOR-TWO product is awesome especially for women who are tea-drinkers.

  5. I recently had my fourth child and yes, pregnancy can be a blessing but it's also hard to deal with at times. I have tons of stretch marks and threw up for most of each pregnancy (not just morning and not just the first trimester.) I have never used any type of stretch mark cream though. I probably should have. These products are really cute!
