Cinco de Mayo Fiesta with Imusa. Review

I guess one of the biggest misconceptions I've been dealing with since moving to the US, it's how people are sure most latinos eat tortillas, even my Mexican friends were surprised when I told them we dont. We do have a (sweet) pastry that's looks like a tortilla but it could be closely related to a crepe since it is a dessert.

Cinco de Mayo Fiesta with Imusa. Review

This is my 3rd year in the US and was my first Cinco de Mayo Fiesta. My dear husband loves Mexican food (TexMex). Tacos, burritos, enchiladas and quesadillas are his idea of a perfect dinner, also the hotter the food the better it taste, he loves spicy food. This year was quite different for both of us since I had the chance to review the Imusa Tortilla Warmer and Imusa Multicolored Dish, we decided to throw a fiesta and celebrate the Cinco de Mayo with tacos. Since he loves to eat, but has no idea how to cook it was on me to make the food , I spent a couple of hours looking for an easy taco recipe to modify to my liking. You can Check my Taco recipe here.

So in my journey through the Mexican culinary world I discovered that hot tortillas are a must and will make any food more flavorful, the Imusa Tortilla Warmer is so incredibly easy to use: just open the tortillas bag and  re-stack them inside the warmer, then introduce it in the microwave for 45 seconds and it will keep the tortillas soft, warm and fresh for over 45 mins. The tortillas can also be heated in a traditional way and placed in the warmer.

The warmer is 100% polyester with a high-temp plastic liner placed inside. The warmer is machine washable, come ins sizes of:10'' or 12'', it shouldn't be used close to a direct source fire or flame, nor for fried or oily foods, dont heat the warmer for more than 3 min inside the microwave and Air dry only.

The Imusa 4oz Multicolor Dish comes with 3 pieces in different colors (green, orange and red),the dishes are sturdy: the outside is textured,  the inside is smooth and perfect to place different salsas in. I made a shallot flavored guacamole and some hot sauce (Llajua).
