Cthulhu Munchkin review

Cthulhu Munchkin review

I really enjoyed the original version Munchkin so I was excited to play this. I will say it was fun but I didn't like it as much as the original. The characters are so cute on these cards! My favorite is Chibithulhu and Cowthuhu. These cards are in color which the original Munchkin didn't come in(until the 19th printing that just released.) and featured many cute characters but the cute characters get bonus against females.

There was some things to get used to as most cards have another kick back. Namely with the original there is classes and races but in this there is only classes. In the original you could change class at any time by choice in this version if you are a cultist you stay a cultist unless a curse removes it and there is many cards that force you to become a cultist. We have had fun playing it overnight but the original is still my favorite but this is my second favorite.

This is what the site had to say about the game:
Munchkins have hacked their way through dungeons, kung fu temples, starships, haunted houses, and super-foes. Now they face their greatest challenge – Cthulhu! Will they survive? Will they retain their sanity? Will they . . . level up?
Munchkin Cthulhu is a stand-alone game that lampoons Lovecraft's Mythos and the horror gaming that surrounds it. Brought to you by Steve Jackson and John Kovalic, this set features four Classes – including theCultist – and a lot of classic monsters from outside reality. And they all have Stuff you can take from their twitching bodies.

You can play Munchkin Cthulhu by itself, or combine it with any number of other Munchkin games for mind-bending silliness.
We did combine the 2 versions together and it was quite entertaining

I give this 4 out of 5 stars.
