Technical Specifications

Easy plug & play operation
Simply plug in the hdmi input sources into the input connections and the output connection to your TV or projector. 501BN will automatically switch to the currently active input source if there is only one active input. If there are multiple active inputs, then you can select the input either using the IR remote or using the select button on the switch. The HDMI signal from the selected input is passed through to the output HDMI connection.

Quality Picture and Sound
– Automating switching(smart function), IR remote controlled switching or manual switching
– Supports 3D, HDCP 1.2 compliant; Deep color up to 36-bit
– Guaranteed 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i Resolutions
– Works with all HDTVs, Blu-ray players, Xbox 360, PS3, Apple TV (all versions) and other HDMI devices
– Helps reduce clutter of HDMI wires being fed into your HDTV

Note: Apple TV keeps its HDMI port active even in the sleep state. Hence, auto-switching may not work with the Apple TV. Manual switching can still be used in this scenario.

I had the 3 port HDMI port from Kinivo previously and for a long time it met my needs. My tv has only 2 HDMI ports and when I got it I thought that's all I would need. Sadly as time progressed more and more things used HDMI and I found myself having to unplug things to be able to use other things. As you know that gets old after awhile. So when I got the chance to test out the 5 port HDMI switch I jumped at the offer. The automatic switching was the part I was most excited about. So I unplugged the old one and plugged up the new one. I loved being able to switch between the wii U and the bluray player without having to use yet another remote. Now that I've added the Roku the automatic switch doesn't work since it maintains a connection even when not in use like the Apple TV. The remote has been a savior with switching between the Roku and the bluray player. The lights on this model is better than the previous as it isn't so bright that it hurts your eyes. If you are like me and use several devices for your entertainment needs then this is something you will want in your home.
