Ciate Sequined Manicure Kit in harlequin

Ciate Sequined Manicure Kit in Harlequin

This is the 2nd product I received to review from Ciate. I love the idea of this manicure and unlike most of my co workers I adore glitter. They have 2 color variation available for sale at Sephora currently
  • Harlequin
  • Tutu
These retail for $19 but sometimes go on sale for $13. Inside you will find:
  • Pot of glitter
  • Glitter grip
  • brush

More information about the product:

What it is:

A two-step innovative nail art kit that delivers a raw sequin-like texture.

What it does:

The Sequined Manicure™ was created by Ciaté’s Creative Director Charlotte Knight while styling an extravagant nail look to give an embellished dazzling finish, unachievable by regular nail polish.

Suggested Usage:

-The kit includes a Glitter Grip polish, the perfect base to create a sequin coat onto the nail.

-Tidy the nail, sweeping away any excess sequins with your Little Black Brush and finish with a slick coat of Glitter Grip over your sequined nails.

-The finished look is a wonderfully heavy sequin coat, creating an exquisite finish.

My review:

I love the look of this but prefer the colors of tutu to Harlequin. The green in the mix just seems a bit overtaking and made it seem more like Christmas. Once it was on the nails the effect wasn't as bad but in the box that's all I and my coworkers could think. The glitter is the kind that you have to fight to get off of you. When I used it, it got all over my desk and even using the brush we had a hard time getting rid of it. We ended up using our fingernails to remove any excess just because it seemed to stick to us no matter how much we brushed. That may be caused by the static electricity that seems to be everywhere this year, you cant touch anything without being shocked. I tested this product for 3 days and didn't have much problem with loss of glitter.

This is just after pressing finger into the pot of glitter.
After cleaning up the excess.
After applying clear coat. Now I read the reviews of the product online and some were saying that the clear coat made the manicure less shiny but I didn't have that problem to me it seemed to to enhance it. The above pictures are from Michael when he tried the product for me. He didn't care for the glitter as much as I but preferred the Caviar manicure and removed the Sequined nail ASAP. I took it for a test drive myself and was mesmerized by it and had trouble looking away. You know that ADHD joke right? Well as I was saying.....Ohhhh SHINY. Lol but seriously that's the effect it had on me. I didn't think to take a picture the first day I am not sure what got into me.

As you can see I only lost a little on the left side of the nail at the tip and it never went more then that on the third day I decided to remove it. This lasted through :
  • several days typing at work
  • washing my hair 2 times
  • going to doctor
  • cleaning the house
All without loss after that first day which could very well be from me missing that part of the nail. I rather enjoyed this set and plan on using it when I go to some weddings in the future to have the eye catching nails. Who knows maybe when I go to take a picture and some see's it Ill get to catch the look on their face as they wonder about my nails or when the OHH SHINY though crosses their mind.

Me with my many colored nails, I can never decide on just one color.

I give this a 5 out of 5 stars

I received this product in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.

  8. I do agree with all of the ideas you've introduced in your post.
They're really convincing and can definitely work. Still, the posts are too quick for beginners.
May you please lengthen them a bit from subsequent time?
