~OVER~Lunchbox give away by makeadollaholla

Hey all this is a short 7 day giveaway make sure to enter at: http://makeadollaholla.blogspot.com/2012/06/another-giveaway-us-only.html?m=1.

Car issues continue.

So yesterday after driving around all morning it appeared the hoses had been our only issue. Later in the day when the old man went to help a friend whose car broke down he broke down himself after getting to where they were and driving down the road. So we are back to looking at a fuel pump replacement which we did less than 2 years ago. The pump is going to cost almost $150 and hopefully that's the only issue. We may have to limit our driving to early morning to prevent it from acting up til this heat wave is over as this is happening to everyone's car.

Be safe all and stay cool.

Denny's in Henderson, KY review

We needed to test the car and see if what was done had fixed the issue. The old man proposed a trip and it was breakfast time so we decided on Denny's as a destination but a local one was too close for what we needed to I googled locations and found the one in Henderson. My first time there was awesome, My cup never ran dry and the food was good. Reminds me now that I have left overs which I'll be eating after writing this. The waitress we had trouble understanding her with her accent but she was friendly and constantly refilled our drinks, which is one of the things we value most because we drink more than we eat. We had a pleasant visit; it wasn't too hot or to cold, and the bathroom was clean. We plan on going back soon and taking his mother as a surprise.

Leap Year review

I watched this not really knowing what the movie was about when I started it. I just knew that it had been on my list for sometime of movies to watch. So finally I sat down to watch it when I first woke up this morning. The movie had me cracking up and its amazing how clumsy the main character is, she always seem to try to have the best motivation and then something going wrong. I think my favorite part is where her shoe smacks the bride in the face! Even funnier is what happens when she is apologizing to the bride. At first I couldn't believe what happened in Dublin but I do like how the story ended. He was a jack ass for his reason for proposing. Oh, and the fire alarm scene seeing him grab all that stuff was hilarious. If you haven't seen this movie I recommend checking it out.

A hot day in Indiana

Today it got up to 106. It was so hot that cars caught on fire while going down the road. I hadn't known about the cars catching on fire til I was reading posts on Facebook. I started to worry and called the old man  to see how he was fairing as he had been gone for ages. I found out that my van had started having issues as all the other cars. So before I went to bed they said it seemed to be my fuel pump but he's asleep and I don't know if that is what they found or if they found something else.

4th of July crafting madness.

At work we are having a contest of decorating our managers desk. Being as no one had cash to put up I suggested we make everything from cardboard as its free and I had paint and brushes so we started working on it! Well in the end we did have to get some more supplies but it was less than $5 for more paint as we were running out of white red and blue and we needed darker red and some peach. These are pictures as the project went on, more will be coming soon as we did 9 mini flags from history. Ignore the tape on uncle sam we are waiting for his arm to dry so we can remove it.

Uncle sam was drawn by Joy on my team and then painted by me. We split of the card board and all did some work several people cut out stars and painted them. We also Had a few doing flags. The declaration is my baby still trying to do it but running out of room so I'm having to squish down the font. Happy 4th everyone. Do you do anything to decorate at work?

This Review & Giveaway is done by SaraLee's DealsSteals & Giveaways

Book Description:

Only opening their hearts will keep them from plunging into the dark
abyss. Old Nani-lei lives in Hana-lani, her family home in rural Hawaii.
She looks after her grandson Henry, 52, and his daughter Lucy, 6, who
have returned to Maui from Berkeley after the death of Maria, Henry's
wife. Henry and Maria, both professors, had been working on A History
of Ethics, and now the grieving Henry struggles to finish it. City girl
Meredith Campbell, 36, fast-paced, self-centered, and beautiful,
believes her body will ensure her happiness. After losing her job and
finding her lover unfaithful, she flies to Maui, sure he will
follow...but her plane crashes near Hana-lani. As their worlds collide
in a natural world both beautiful and dangerous, Henry will be forced to
act on his words, and Meredith will come face-to-face with her own life
choices. A poignant journey that unravels T.S. Eliot's "permanent
questions"- what is goodness, truth, and love? By the author of the
thought-provoking trilogy Pilgrimage, Offerings, and Inheritance.

About the Author:

are going? She is also fascinated with the interaction of matter and
spirit. Her trilogy explores the legacy of Western European culture:
Pilgrimage (OakTara, 2007), tells of a mother's search for healing of
body and soul in Italy; Offerings (OakTara, 2009) tells of a redemptive
journey through France (Bronze Medal winner in the Independent Publisher
Book Awards 2010); Inheritance (OakTara 2009) tells of a life-saving
trip through England. A fourth novel, Hana-lani (OakTara 2010), set in
Hana, Maui, is a love story about the role of family in American
culture. She is currently working on a mystery about Mary Magdalene set
in Rome and Provence.

My Take on the book:

I love reading books like these because they remind me of a Life Time movie. I got into the plot of the story and kept wanting to read more so I could get to good part lol I personally could relate to the characters in the story because my husband & I are two different people and a flat tire brought us together. This will be a good read for anyone who reads it.

OVER~~Just Almonds Review & Giveaway

Another great give away! check it out all!

This post and give away is by : Save more spend less.

Just Almonds sent me a bag of almond flour and a bag of nonpariel almonds. I've had the products for awhile, but waited until this week to try the almond flour. My nephew Braden has enjoyed eating the almonds every time he is over and eats them by the handfuls. My husband, daughter and I have also enjoyed the almonds. The almonds are Just Almonds, just like the name refers to, there is no added preservatives, colors. When we opened the package we used our senses to decide what we were getting. To look at them they were all very big, nice and plump and smelled very fresh. The highlight for me was the sticker on the package that said what month they were actually packaged in. I have never before seen this on any nut package, so you know what you are getting is top quality and freshness!!  The almond flour we used to make homemade shortcake for the fresh strawberries we recently purchased. Since we are watching our calories and carbohydrates I was pleasantly surprised that Just Almonds almond flour only had 177 calories and only 6 grams of carbohydrates!! So not only is it fresher than what you would buy a tth store it tastes a little better for baking!! The almond taste was fantastic with the fresh strawberries and was made with Zero calorie Wholesome Sweeteners. Almond flour is also high in protein and low in sugars. I would have to say that the almond flour was very surprising! It tasted great, but the chewiness would take some getting used too. All in all I was pretty impressed with almond flour and it will be a staple in my kitchen for years to come. Another one of my favorite parts of the Just Almonds is that they are products of the United States. Its not very often anymore you find products that are from the United States. Check out Just Almonds website today by clicking here. Visit them on Facebook and Twitter. Just Almonds is also giving away a 4 pound almond product of the winners choice. Make sure and enter using the rafflecopter below.   The product in this post was given to me in exchange for my review/opinion by Just Almonds. Even though this products were provided to me at no cost, I only personally recommend products that I think will be good for myself and readers. Thanks to Just Almonds for allowing me to review this great product.

The trials and tribulations of rooting an LG Thrill

I had a friend that wanted to root their LG thrill and gave the task to me. Now rooting is not something I had ever tried or even looked into. So the research began I spent about 3 hours just looking into information. Found multiple ways to do it so I started trying them. They weren't that detailed so I tried them because they said to wait 15 mins and if it didn't to try again. So here is the list of the things that I tried.

  • super one click: used 3 different ways every time I tried to run this program it would go to not responding after only a few mins.
  • ginger break: tried  4 times This requires no pc to do you download the file and run it on your device. It said to wait also 15mins and it should reboot I waited 20 each time and then hard reset still no root. I tried this one about 3-5 times.
  • tried batch file same issue: This was another program I got from online I downloaded the file and ran the software it kept getting stuck. After 3 tries I gave up.
  • unliversal androot: is another with no pc needed I tried multiple times without count and got this weird message.

So after 1 failed day of trying to root this device I reached out to those that I have had do mine in the past and asked for advice. They got back to me a few hours later. So in the end the things I was missing was manually downloading the drivers from lg's website (which all the instructions just said to plug the phone in and let it install the drivers.) and to make sure that I unplugged the Samsung galaxy s 2 that I was tethering for the internet connection. Did that and boom flew through and was rooted in less than 20 mins.

I hope you enjoyed this story of me pulling my hair out have fun see you next time.

The tribe: tv show review

The Tribe was a show that I watched on WHAM in high school and loved it. My favorite character was lex but I started around season 4 and didnt watch everything so I had no clue how many characters that I missed or so many important story lines. A few months back I was able to get my hands on all 5 seasons of The Tribe, no more in the dark would I be. So I started to watch it from episode 1 and I was hooked. Even though I knew those characters were not there in the future I wanted to know the past and I spent hours just watching them maybe 3-7 episodes at a time. I was so addicted I started to put the show on my cell phone to watch at work during lunch. I couldn't tear myself away the story was drawing me in and I didn't resist. And for those of you who may have never seen the tribe there are 5 seasons with 260episodes! So needless to say this took some time. Now because there is about 52 episodes per season they got to delve deep into the characters and made you feel like you really knew them. I will say that after watching all of them I still think lex is hot but hes a snake. Now by snake I mean he was with most of the main female cast often cheating on who ever he was currently in a relationship with.
The only one that rivaled Lex in his number of conquest was amber. Click here for the list. But where Lex was a dog, Amber was pure of heart. She loved each man for who they were and not just a person to sleep with. Bray was my favorite after watching all the episodes and he was also one of amber's men.

The show was canceled before season 6 could be made and left a lot of us fans hanging. There has been new hope given to us die hards. A book was published covering what would have happened in season 6 but still left some questions unanswered and left us wanting more. I hope they will make more but see here to read my review on the book.

Have fun tribers.
Rubyblood.

Abuse: Its not an accident.

There are things about me that a lot of people don't know. Even my own family I never told them but they may have figured it out on their own. When I was in my senior year of high school I met a guy online. I guess you could say I was desperate to be loved. He left the town he was staying and moved to Evansville. I later found out almost everything he had told me was a lie. He had not been going to school in Lafayette but had been in truth living in the homeless shelter there. But still I stayed, when I think back I'm not 100% sure why I ever chose to stay in that situation. Before then I had only dated 2 others, The first was a guy I met at 14 and was constantly abusing me not physically but mentally by constantly cheating on me and dumping me and then begging me to come back by saying he was wrong and that he did indeed did love me I went through this cycle all through high school. The second was nothing serious with someone I had gone to school with.

Then a few weeks into being with the guy from the internet, who I will leave unnamed in this post, he hit me. Immediately said it was an accident I don't remember what it was that I was thinking or why I didn't call out to my mother to kick him out. The next time it happened I was alone with him and we were talking about something and I said something that made him angry and he punched me. He said it was my fault that I shouldn't have made him angry. I remember the pain I remember being panicked, but I don't remember much else. I was 17 and he told me I wasn't worth anything and after hearing it from so many others in my life time I believed him. I thought I deserved the pain and the torment.

Cps caught on that he was staying with us and because of his age said he couldn't stay there. So I found him a place to stay with a friend of mine, but things didn't change there either. When I would stay the night I usually got hit. I still remember my first black eye, it was caused on such a night that I stayed and she was at work. I used my dark eye shadow to cover it and no one even suspected anything until it was almost gone. I made an excuse and said it was something else which amazingly was accepted. He would stay in the lobby while I was at work and start a fight because I wouldn't give him free food. One day at the complex where he was staying with my friend we were walking there from my job and he few into a rage. I remember the look on his face his scrunched up face and those evil eyes. He clenched and un-clenched his hand and then punched me in the face. The whole thing was witnessed by a maintenance man, and instead of calling the cops or chasing him away from me til the cops could get there he yelled for both of us to leave. Later on my friend told me he couldn't stay there anymore and that the apartment complex said we were not allowed back on the property.

So he went to stay at a homeless shelter downtown. After a few months he said he couldn't take it anymore and wanted to go back to Lafayette because of the limitations of the shelter and how crazy religious they were. If you ate there you had to listen to their church service which in one they said if you didn't believe in god in the exact way they they said you should go shoot yourself. I should have left him to rot in that place he deserved everything they did to him for what he did to me.

I should have known that he wouldn't change. He told me that I was the only other person he had hit besides his mother, who had left him at 16 or 17 one day when she said she was going to work. He claimed he didn't know why she left but now I know, she was tired of the abuse. I told my mom and she found a church that would provide a greyhound ticket for him to go back to Lafayette. He left and I began to walk to the library to get on aol messenger to talk to him every day that it was open. Even then over online he continues the abuse but this time was mentally, he would snap on me and say that he was logging off and never going to get back on. I still don't know why I kept up with the whole thing I could have easily logged off and said fuck him, But I cried and begged for him to not leave me.

When I was about to turn 18 I began to make arrangements for him to come back I sent him the money via western union to get his ticket to come back. He started again saying he was not going to come back and that he was going to spend the money on junk food and cds.If only I was so lucky that he had spent the money and not come back, but on my 18th birthday I didn't go to school and I picked him up at the bus station. He came to stay with us again as now that I was 18 cps no longer had a say. A few days in and the abuse started again.

Things at home were getting worse and I knew I had to get out, and he was my ticket til I could support myself. I know it sounds so crazy but if you have been in this situation you know the internal struggle I was fighting. I hated him but at the same time I thought I loved him. I helped him get his ssi and he got a nice fat back check for $1400. My mom and them new the check was coming and when It did we cashed it. We knew my mother might try something so we stashed the money with us and told them we left it in the bank. I was woken the next day by my mother putting a baseball bat through my bedroom door. She went off because I lied and the money was not in the bank. When I asked how she knew she threw my bank card at me that must have arrived in the mail that day with my faked signature on the back. She kept calling me a fucking liar and wanted to know where the money was, I told her it was put up safe because I thought she would try something. I packed my shit and he did his and we tried to leave she ripped the duffle bag off my shoulder and ripped off the strap she yelled at me I was her property and that I couldn't leave. I shoved her off me and ran out the door she yelled over the balcony that she was going to call the police. She tried to tell the police that I tried to throw her over the balcony and tried to make them make me stay. They told her that she had no control over me as I was 18 and basically knew she was a drama queen and that they don't believe her.

The only person I had told about him abusing me was someone I went to high school with that I didn't know personally. I guess I wanted to tell someone about what I was going through. That night when we fled from my mother we took a bus to north high school and walked down diamond to fairs. On the way the one person I had told saw us and asked if he was the punk that had hit me. My night took another turn, he was pissed I had told anyone and I told the guy I didn't know what he was talking about and kept walking. That night was one of the worse ever and once he was done I cried til morning. What my mother didn't know but I had been planning our escape once the approval letter was sent. I had already been in talks with an apartment complex and had arrangements made but was waiting til we had the money. I told them we had the cash and they said it would be a few days for the apartment would be ready.

We moved into the apartments about a week later, but because it was a holiday weekend they said it would be about 5 days before the power was on. That of course was my fault according to him . I lived with him like that til after my mother died April of 2007. I kicked him out and he moved into another apartment, and my first boyfriend moved in with me. He transferred to the Walmart by our apartment and after about a month he cheated on me just like he had in the past. One day I came home and she (the girl he had cheated on me with.) was laying on my couch. When I asked her what the fuck she was doing in my apartment she told me he said it was ok and she had moved all her stuff in too. She began to down some pills she brought with her and washed it down with wine coolers and began to cut herself with a kitchen knife. I called him and told him to get this crazy bitch out of my house.

Later I moved out and went back to my tormentor because I had no where else to go. I finally got some good news and got a job that paid 10.35 and hour. I saw the light at the end of the tunnel my chance to support myself and get out of hell. Once I had the job I had to find a way to escape without him knowing what I was planning. One day he had me backed into a corner hitting me and then it crossed my mind "why am I putting up with this." I grew up with my mom having abusive boyfriends and that moment I said I don't want to be like her I don't deserve this! So I punched him in the stomach and walked out the door. The cheating ex and his girl had been trying to talk me into coming and staying with them and on that day I took them up on that offer. They said I could stay there until I found my own apartment. While searching they decided they didn't want to stay in savannah gardens anymore and since I hadn't found anything I wanted in apartments I agreed to let them sign it back over to me. I got away from the violence, I escaped my tormentor but not everyone is so lucky.

When you look at me now you don't see the scars that I bear because they are inside. Sometimes I think the scars run deeper then any caused by a physical blade. If you are going through abuse please seek help, find a way out life is better than that and you DESERVE it.

Pain that keeps occurring.

So for the last few months I have been having a lot of pain in my finger before my pinky on my right hand. The pain starts around 10am after I'm home from work. It only hurts in the tip an around the nail. The only way I can explain the pain is like when it's really cold outside and you forgot your gloves and having to dig through snow that is thick and more like ice then snow. The numbing stabbing pain you feel then is like what I feel times 10. It is so sensitive that if you were to push on it by accident I am screaming in pain. I am going to my doctor soon for a check up and I am going to talk to them about it.

Have you ever experienced pain like that?

Carnival of Madness 2012...what dreams are made of.

I wish this concert was coming to my town. I would totally buy the advance tickets on the floor! Tons of great bands, possibly free stuff off the stage, and who knows Maybe I would get to meet amy lee!

The bands that are playing are: Evanescence, Chevelle, Halestorm, Cavo, and New Medicine! Absolutely love the first 3 but don't know who the other 2 are but totally might love them once I hear them. Just saw Halestorm with Staind, Godsmack back in may and LOVED the concert.

The thing I think I love most about Halestorm is that they took the time to sign every one of their CDs that were sold that night. No I didn't get to meet them :( unfortunately but they had already signed them before putting them at the merchandise booth. I like it but at the same time I hope all the other bands don't start it because then I'll never get to meet them! That's something you guys don't know about me yet is I adore autographs and getting to meet the band! It's even better when you get to get your pictures with your heroes! Although I have been discriminated against by a.band before. (sick puppies was taking pictures with all these skinny fans and signing the CDs I got them to sign but they wouldn't take a picture with me. Even bothered to say that they have been told not to do it by their publicist. I wanted to say oh is it because I'm not skinny cause I just saw those blonds behind the table just a second ago..... Ugh made me so MAD!!!!!)

Are you going to the concert or already went? How was it.

From daughter to father.

Rubyblood-

Dear dad,
There are so many things I wish I could say. I'd like to be able to know if you would be proud of me, the life that I have made. I'm a hard worker like I would imagine you were when you could still walk. I wish every day that I had more pictures of you. I wish you could have seen me graduate high school. I wish that I had a video with you in it so I could still heard your voice. I wish that when I was a child it was like it is now, Where electronics abound and I may have had a digital camera to record home movies.
The children of today are lucky as their parents will most likely leave behind a Facebook page that they will be able to go back and read the things you said to them or the thoughts that you posted to your wall. Video cameras are so cheap that almost everyone has them and if they don't they have a cell phone so there will be videos that they can watch to hear your voice once your gone. I know it sounds corny but no matter how crappy your camera quality is I would recommend recordingning a video saying how much you love them and things you would like them to know about you, or funny stories when their babies. Put it on YouTube or a DVD and make sure to put the url or location of the DVD in your will.  Because if you don't they will wish they had it once they are old enough.

Dear dad,
I simply just want to say I miss you.

Netflix review

I have used Netflix for some time now. It has always been a place for me to catch up on old shows but lately I cant find anything worth watching. The old man is picky and all Netflix is good for is like shows like xena, beauty and the beast ect, shows he doesn't like. I spent 30 mins trying to turn something on to watch during dinner that he wouldn't get annoyed with. I went to the recently added section and all I found was B rated low budget films. Almost nothing worth watching! Its crazy!

Netflix this is to you directly. Get your head out of your ass, If your saving all the good movies for the DVD then your loosing customers and pissing off the ones you have. I prefer HULU over you at this point. So step  up your game and go back to the good ol days.

The tribe :a new world book review

Going into this book I was anxious to find out what happened to our beloved mall rats next. I wasn't disappointed! This book was like watching the show. I could hear them in my mind speaking the words on the pages and the book embodied each characters perfectly. Had me addicted within the first pages all the way up to the end. Was great to see what happened to some of our favorites such as bray. Hope another one is released in the future to show if they ever find Alice and kc and if amber chooses bray or jay.

handstands sticky pad review

Ok I have to admit when I first bought this I was skeptical. After using it however I am in love. I use this to keep my iphone on my dash. Before I had this I would connect my iphone to my radio and put it on the floor. I was always worried something would happen and my phone would break and this seemed like a simple solution for the problem

I was still worried that it wouldn't be any good once it got to the point it didn't stick, but FEAR not a simple wash with water and its good as new. So once you buy one I don't see having to replace it for a long time unless it gets ripped somehow.

I am looking at buying this so that I can use it when traveling as I think I would like it  better then one of those vent mounts. The thing that leaves me worrying is I have an otter-box and I really don't want to have to take my phone out of it to use it.

If you have had the issue of laying your phone on the ground when using it to play music in the car I recommend this product.

Lost dog: my fuzzy adventure.

Dave left went to let fuzz in and he's gone. I walked the whole yard calling him still no sign. Walk the neighborhood still don't see him. Finally when I'm starting to cry thinking he was snatched I find him stuck in someone's yard.

My new styrofoam hat model

Got this and it's been staring at me and I kept thinking I should paint it. So I did! Here's what I did last night!
